Armstrong Campus - Savannah, GA

Department of Mathematical Science

The Student Assistant will support the Department of Mathematical Science as a Teachers Assistant on the Armstrong Campus beginning Summer 2023.

Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period.

• Meets weekly with the instructor to organize subject-related material to assist students
• Leads problem-solving sessions for students
• Maintains attendance log
• Updates instructor on the progress of the class

Shift Specifics

• Up to 11 hours per week
• Flexible with schedule of availability

Educational Requirements

• Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours or three or more graduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University.

$12.00 per hour

This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.

Preferred Education

• Successful completion of both Calculus I (MATH 1441) and Calculus II (MATH 2242) or equivalent courses with a grade of “B” or better.
