Strong Bodies InstructorRecreationDepartmentReports to the Recreation Director (or His/Her Designee)
POSITION SUMMARYThe Strong Bodies Instructor is responsible for planning, organizing and implementing an appropriate exercise program based on the Strong Bodies curriculum.
MAJOR POSITION DUTIES
- Wear clean clothing in good repair, appropriate for the teaching.
- Arrive at least 15 minutes prior to class time. Punch-in on smartphone app.
- Examine and evaluate the safety of the classroom, surrounding area and equipment.
- Set-up classroom as necessary for the day's classes
- Communicate with participants and other staff in a professional manner.
- Instructs/leads participants through the Strong Bodies curriculum exercises.
- Proposes class schedule to Recreation Director
- Clean-up the classroom/playfield at the completion of each day's classes.
- Punch-out on smartphone app at the completion of the day's classes.
- Report incidents and concerns to the Recreation Director in a timely manner.
- Attend all necessary program meetings
- Other duties as assigned by the Recreation Director.
QUALIFICATIONS(ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES)
- Must be 18+ Years Old
- Strong Bones Certification.
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
- Ability to follow Kaukauna Recreation Department Time & Attendance procedures.
- Prior teaching experience is preferred.
ENVIONMENTAL CONDITIONS
- Ability to stoop, kneel, climb, bend, lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to sustain prolonged visual concentration.
- Ability to stand/sit for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to endure a variety of weather and temperature conditions for prolonged periods of time.
