As our Strength and Conditioning Coach, you will play an essential role in providing expertise, guidance, and education in strength training and physical conditioning for team personnel. You will work closely with the coaching staff and athletic trainers to ensure that player plans for conditioning are in line with their overall progress with the team.
Responsibilities:

DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Collaborate with Athletic Trainer and Head Coach to schedule strength and conditioning workouts (individual training, team trainings, etc.).
  • Provide players with guidance and proper training techniques for free weights and other strength training equipment and motivate them to maintain conditioning.
  • Maintain the weight room, managing inventory of all equipment and updating staff on equipment needs.
  • Maintain up-to-date records on the strength program of each player and specific individual workouts, including testing records, strength training attendance, and rehab records.
  • Assist with any off-season or pre-season camps and clinics, traveling to off-site locations when necessary.
  • Consistently and effectively communicate with Athletic Trainer, Head Coach, and other applicable staff about player needs, training plans, etc.
Qualifications:
WE’D LIKE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE:
  • Bachelor’s degree in sport science, physiology, or related field, is preferred.
  • Previous coaching experience of a basketball team is preferred.
  • Ability to demonstrate plays and techniques on the court as well as lifting weights and performing exercises.
  • Strong understanding of principles and techniques of strength training and conditioning.
  • Strong and effective verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to inspire players to stay engaged and motivated throughout their training programs.
  • Knowledge of proper strength and conditioning techniques, and ability to demonstrate them.
  • Experience in rehab techniques.
