Job description
This position is responsible for maintaining stock and ordering necessary supplies, decontamination, cleaning, processing and sterilization of supplies, instruments and equipment dispensed by the department following infection control practices.. In addition is responsible for preparing supplies for cases, setting up and maintaining the sterile field, passing instruments and supplies to the surgeon, readying used instruments for the cleaning and re-sterilization process. Has completed all necessary educational and testing requirements for national certification. Must be conscientious with regard to procedures and all duties relative to the department. Performs other duties as assigned.TYPE

EDUCATION
High School graduate or equivalent. Sterile Processing Certification preferred. If hired January 1, 2017 or later certification as Central Supply Technician required within 2 years of being hired.
