POSITION PURPOSE:

Coordinates and provides programs and learning opportunities for the clinical staff in the area assigned based upon comprehensive needs assessments performed in collaboration with clinicians, staff, organizational leaders and peers. This position requires sterile processing expertise, ability to develop and run education programs and work independently.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
    • Collaborates with staff to identify specific training and educational needs including but not limited to Sterile Processing 101 course for new hires working toward certification and training to competency.
    • Mentors new hires, works alongside new hires and educates new hires in a 1:1 fashion to assure oversight of work performed and growth in competency with new hires.
    • Develops and implements competencies, tools, program and curriculum designed to meet the educational needs of the Sterile Processing staff. Assigns education and competencies and assures timely completion.
    • Knowledgeable of current Standards of Practice regulatory requirements and best practices. Assures communication, identification and intervention of violations and/or changes in the current Sterile Processing environment.
    • Communicates clearly and consistently with peers, department leadership and staff
    • Serves as a role model for embracing organizational change and process improvement, participates in the department and quality improvement processes.
    • Utilizes a variety of presentation and facilitation skills to deliver content specific to educational needs.
    • Continuously monitors and reports effectiveness of programs and tools implemented to include but not limited to Employee Certification Rates and Incident Rates. Revises education as needed based on organizational feedback and outcomes.
    • Role models the principles of a Just Culture and Vail Health Values.
    • Perform other duties as assigned. Must be HIPAA compliant.

Experience:
  • Minimum 1 year experience
License(s):
  • N/A
Certification(s):
  • Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician by the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CSPDI by CBSPD) Required.
Computer / Typing:
  • Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
Must have working knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.
Education:

Pay is based upon relevant education and experience.

Pay Range:

$21.49—$32.23 USD
