Staffing Coordinator

SHIFT: Full-time, Days

Responsibilities:

Demonstrates knowledge of age specific developmental factors specific to adult and geriatric residents with regard to staffing and secretarial duties in the nursing department.

Attends all mandatory in-services by employee's anniversary date.

Acts appropriately under the direction of the Assistant Director of Nursing and/or Director of Nursing and acts as an active member of the interdisciplinary team.

Demonstrates ability to adjust to changes in work schedule to meet facility and department needs.

Demonstrates knowledge of and complies with the Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program when performing work functions.

Coordinates and manages staffing schedule and job assignments according to nursing department budgetary guidelines and needs. Contacts personnel to fill-in when there is an absence of another staff member.

Provides clerical support to the nursing department, which may include answering telephones for the department/unit, maintaining medical records, and preparing special reports.

Maintains all files within the Nursing Department.

Is aware of, and adheres to, Resident's Bill of Rights and Confidentiality of Resident Information.

Interacts with residents, family members, co-workers, clinical and ancillary staff in a non-judgemental, supportive and cal manner.

Addresses employee satisfaction issues immediately and assists in resolving the matter in a professional manner.

Is aware of Resident Abuse Reporting law.

Participates as assigned in the orientation of new staff and demonstrates a positive, helpful and enthusiastic attitude.

Demonstrates ability to locate emergency equipment (i.e. fire extinguisher, etc.)

Understands and can demonstrate knowledge of role in Fire and Disaster drills.

Demonstrates ability to identify and respond appropriately to potential behavioral outbursts.

Uses facility equipment safely.

Recognizes, removes, and/or reports potential hazards.

Addresses residents in a respectful manner.

Discusses confidential resident information in appropriate areas only.

Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of Nursing and/or Director of Nursing.

Requirements:

High school diploma required, or sufficient experience and knowledge to perform the job functions.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Possesses experience in typing, filing, copying, and other clerical functions.

Possesses strong organizational skills, and attention to detail, and projects a professional image.

Must be capable of performing the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Must be able to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing, and possesses sufficient communication skills to perform the tasks at hand.
