We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our team and help with the timely and accurate preparation of daily/weekly/monthly accounting entries posted into the accounting system. This position will be accountable for the maintenance and accuracy of assigned general ledger and bank accounts. The Staff Accountant will support timely month-end close by assisting Controller in compilation of monthly Financial Statements, including adjusting entries, bank reconciliation, and analysis of Balance Sheet and Income Statement accounts. The Staff Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organizations assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the day to day accounting functions, including recording of bank and credit card transactions and general ledger account reconciliations.
  • Compose monthly and daily Journal entries and prepare monthly account reconciliations related to revenue, accounts receivable, prepaids, accounts payable, payroll, accruals, and various other accounts.
  • Execute / manage weekly payroll processing with third party – ADP Work Force Now
  • Construct journal entries to record asset, liability, and expense transactions by compiling supporting documents and account information, ensuring the timely preparation, and submission of close-related deliverables
  • Assist with preparing needed documents for tax filings for external tax preparer.
  • Maintains and balances account reconciliations by verifying, allocating, and reconciling transactions.
  • Review accounts payable and accounts receivable invoices to ensure they are recorded to the appropriate general ledger accounts.
  • Reconcile depository and disbursement bank accounts to the general ledger and trust account registers, as well as address aged deposits in transit and outstanding checks.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics or similar field of study preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience working in corporate accounting.
  • Excellent knowledge of Accounting Principles and Procedures (GAAP and IFRS).
  • Must have strong communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Must maintain Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Must have great attention to detail.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to multi-task while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
  • Must be able to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to interact positively with others and be a team player.
  • Must be able to take ownership of their work and should be able to work independently.
  • Ability to take direction and provide feedback.
  • Sage Intacct experience a plus.
  • Perform the essential functions and physical demands of the position with or without accommodation.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
