We are currently hiring a Staff Accountant based in Worcester. As a member of the finance department, the Staff Accountant’s primary responsibility is to maintain the financial records of the Health Center in a timely and accurate manner including administering all facets accounts payable, accounts receivable, and execution of special projects.

Essential Functions:

  • Enter and post invoices to Accounts Payable and General Ledger.
  • Prepare A/P vouchers and checks in accordance with Health Center policies. Communicate with vendors on a regular basis. Verify valid contracts for all vendors prior to payments.
  • Enter daily cash receipts into electronic accounting software.
  • Create and reconcile monthly journal entries, including Prepaid Expense and Fixed Assets
  • Bill all grants, contracts, and vendors accordingly.
  • Prepare annual tax documents including 1099 tax forms to appropriate vendors.
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliation of the operating and payroll account.
  • Assist in the planning and preparation of year-end audit work papers.
  • Perform other duties and work assignments as assigned by the supervisor including attendance of requested department, center, and outside meetings and/or trainings.

Required Qualifications:

  • Accounting degree, certificate, or experience within a related field.
  • 1-2 years’ experience working with spreadsheets, databases, or accounting software.
