SSB’s in-house creative team specializes in strategy, design and execution of branded programs and content that connects our brands with consumers across all touchpoints.
We’re in search of a Sr. Visual Designer to join our growing in-house creative team. The ideal candidate is a highly collaborative, multifaceted brand designer with an eye for visual details and a passion for solving customer problems. The Sr. Visual Designer develops integrated creative campaigns and leads design across multiple digital and print platforms supporting our retail partners and Direct to Consumer business. They will help drive the development of our brands by ensuring that creative briefs are fully explored with new ideas and delivered to the highest standards.
This role reports to the Sr. Director, Brand Creative - Beautyrest, and partners closely with content and editorial teams, designers, producers and partners across marketing, e-commerce and new product development.
What You'll Do:
- Help grow brand awareness and revenue by participating in concepting and executing exceptional, engaging marketing campaigns
- Work on multiple complex creative projects simultaneously, collaborating with content, copy and channel marketing partners, to develop compelling concepts in a myriad of marketing channels including our websites, display, social, email, retail, video, print, etc.
- Use data and customer research to inform design decisions that generate increasingly effective campaigns
- Meets with internal clients and/or the Creative Director to review creative briefs to understand direction and project scope to ensure work is solving business requirements.
- Maintains strong understanding of brand positioning and the role design plays in championing brand development.
- Stays up-to-date on current design trends and tools.
- Presents design concepts to various internal and external partners.
What You'll Bring:
- 5-8(+) years related experience in design.
- E-commerce experience required. Home experience preferred.
- A bias toward testing and a curiosity for what you don’t know
- Ability to clearly articulate design decisions & problems with excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
- An entrepreneurial spirit, and willingness to take on new challenges and risks.
- Comfortable in a high-growth, fast-paced, self-starter environment
- Track record of being an independent, collaborative partner who can handle multiple projects with minimal oversight
- Strong typography, visual, graphic and experience design sensibilities
- Strong conceptual thinking skills partnered with ridiculous attention to detail
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in written, verbal and visual form for audiences across the organization
- Outstanding organizational, time management, and prioritization skills; can be highly productive with limited direction and sometimes ambiguous challenges
- Ability to work quickly in InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop; Abstract and Figma are nice to haves. Ability to create assets with some light motion is also a plus.
- BA Graphic Design or related field
- A portfolio demonstrating exceptional branding, campaign, and visual story-telling skills across multiple media channels; website, display, social, email, retail, video, print, etc.
