Overview

The Senior Thermal Engineer position is a full-time exempt position. The Senior Thermal Engineer will be responsible for developing thermal design solutions for components, subsystems and/ or systems, performing thermal analysis, and support hardware integration for a broad range of aerospace systems. The individual will report to a Team Lead.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the program engineering team or customer to develop thermal requirements for mechanical and electrical components, subsystems, and/ or systems
• Develop thermal design solutions to support the hardware development life cycle based on system requirements and in accordance with corporate and program quality standards
• Perform thermal analysis to validate system performance requirements
• Develop presentation materials of design solutions, methodologies, trade studies, etc., for design reviews
• Develop and implement verification methods to support requirements verification
• Interface with the engineering and manufacturing teams on the development of hardware solutions.
• Produce engineering products in support of customer requirements.
• Support program meetings and reviews as required.
• Provide mentorship to other members of the engineering team.
• Support other duties as assigned.

Skills and Competencies

• BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, MS degree preferred.
• At least 10 years of mechanical and thermal engineering experience.
• Highly proficient with thermal engineering software such as PATRAN, Thermal Desktop, Sinda/Fluint, ANSYS, etc. and other CAE software.
• Experience with formal design reviews such as SRR, PDR, CDR
• Experience with Finite Element Analysis
• Experience with design for manufacturing
• Demonstrated experience and an ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment and with other engineers collaboratively.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.

Clearance

• Secret Clearance Required.
