SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

This position is responsible for supporting the continued rollout and refinement of Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) systems for the Mechanical Department, and provides technical, operational, training, and compliance support to ensure system integrity, rolling stock master file accuracy and that system improvements are accomplished to track and record all mechanical department data, including both equipment and employee related data for financial and productivity reporting.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Manages production planning activities, training, and business process refinement effort and activities in multiple facilities/regions in support of EAM/ERP implementation.
  • Provides guidance, technical support and training to designated facility Production Planning & Systems Specialist and/or facility assigned points of contacts to ensures changes and enhancements are communicated effectively across multiple facilities/regions.
  • Ensures training requests and requirements for both in-house and external customers (contractors, government agencies) within assigned region are coordinated and implemented.
  • Interfaces directly with departmental management staff in assigned region to improve EAM system on-site application, to foster facility management support and commitment and to build enthusiasm about system implementation and its benefits.
  • Oversees scheduling and progress reporting of assigned region and implementation activities, including change management.
  • Analyzes effectiveness of EAM implementation activities for assigned region and develops and implements plans to address deficiencies.
  • Assists internal and external customers in retrieval and interpretation of EAM system data; provides subject matter expertise and acts as a point of contact for user assistance with EAM application as necessary.
  • Provides input relating to system design changes from a user perspective by soliciting and communicating feedback from facility users.



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Three (3) years of related experience
  • Demonstrated project management experience
  • Demonstrated experience in delivery of training programs.
  • Demonstrated multi-disciplined engineering or mechanical experience with heavy industry or Transportation Company.
  • Demonstrated experience and skills using PC-based word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software (E.G. Word, excel, PowerPoint) and the ability to integrate other common desktop products as required.
  • Strong EAM/Work Management content and technical knowledge.
  • General knowledge of FRA regulations, Railroad Operating Rules, OSHA regulations, AAR Rules, general maintenance practices for Amtrak cars and locomotives and other applicable codes and standards.
  • Demonstrated organizational and interpersonal skills, including Change Management skills.
  • Effective training and platform skills.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Extensive multi-disciplined engineering or mechanical experience in a transportation company with demonstrated project management experience.
  • Five (5) years of related experience.
  • IT-related coursework in Networking, Business Communications and/or Information Systems.
  • Required to travel 30%
  • Required to work in heavy maintenance repair shop environment and observe all safety rules and regulations including using appropriate personal safety equipment.
  • May be required to travel to and work in any Amtrak facility within assigned region and in facilities outside of assigned region as needed.


COMMUNICATIONS AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:

Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.


The salary/hourly range is $77,580 - $100,540. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, internal equity, etc. Depending on an employee’s assigned worksite or location, Amtrak may consider a geo-pay differential to be applied to the employee’s base salary. Amtrak may offer additional incentive and pay programs to recognize and reward our employees, including a short-term incentive bonus based upon factors such as individual and company performance that is commensurate with the level of the position and/or long-term incentive plan compensation. In accordance with DOT regulations (49 CFR § 40.25), Amtrak is required to obtain prior drug and alcohol testing records for applicants/employees intending to perform safety-sensitive duties for covered Department of Transportation positions. If an applicant/employee refuses to provide written consent for Amtrak to obtain these records, the individual will not be permitted to perform safety-sensitive functions.
