ViZn Energy Systems is looking for a Sr. Manufacturing Design Engineer to join our team in Columbia Falls, Montana. ViZn Energy is developing an environmentally sustainable and commercially viable flow battery with the ultimate goal of providing grid-scale renewable energy storage to markets around the world.

This position is based on-site in our Columbia Falls, Montana headquarters. This area of Northwest Montana is home to Glacier National Park, Flathead Lake, Whitefish Mountain Resort, and many other world-class outdoor locations to suit the interests of nearly any outdoor recreationalist. Description:

ViZn Energy has a unique opportunity for a Sr. Manufacturing Design Engineer that will support development of batteries for grid energy storage. Working closely with other engineers, this role will be focused on designing for mass production. This may include designing and prototyping concepts to verify production viability. The ideal candidate will develop relationships with assembly partners and facilitate discussions around process improvements.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist battery engineers by providing feedback and concepts to optimize designs for mass production and automation.
• Design & build prototypes when necessary to prove assembly concepts.
• Develop relationships with suppliers and assembly partners to improve production assembly process.
• Perform capability studies to predict rejection rates and recommend improvements.
• Perform assembly time studies and generate cost comparisons.

Required Qualifications:

• BS or MS degree in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering / Technology
• 5+ years of experience in designing for manufacturing
• Proficiency with SolidWorks or ability to learn within a reasonable amount of time.
• Experience communicating directly with suppliers & planning production processes.
• Statistical analysis skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with injection molded plastics and rubber.
• Creo experience is a plus.
• High degree of mechanical aptitude.

Compensation

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
