This position is accountable for strategic direction and leads/influences Staples teams regarding Logistic Supply Chain policies and procedures as required to support the movement of international cargo with an emphasis on policy and vision in the global market. Responsible for managing the movement to 70+ Staples facilities with COGS approximated $700M and Sales of $1B. This position manages Operations for 2 Export Distribution Centers in Asia and manages Maersk our 3PL as well as 7+ ocean carriers, 14,000+ containers, from 30 Global ports and is also responsible for all origin management and CFS Facilities in Vietnam and India. This position is directly responsible for managing 2 associates.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Design and implementation of action plans for Associates to grow and succeed
  • Facilitate and execute tactical supply chain planning and logistics flow paths
  • Manage global purchases of $700M
  • Manage operational execution of two Export Distribution Centers in China
  • Inventory Control and production management for $20M in EDC Inventory
  • Drive process and operational improvements for service metrics on time (book, tender, ship)
  • Improve operational effectiveness, reduce costs, and drive reliability in the supply chain
  • Manage Supply Chain Budget of over $90M
  • Tactical execution of flow path decisions (utilization, deconsol vs direct flow, equip. usage)
  • Review of metrics and KPI’s and execute needed changes to the Supply chain
  • Continual assessment of complex flow paths and distribution methods
  • Import / Export Assessment on high-risk Countries
  • Supply Chain Crisis management and communication (port strikes, natural disasters, supply disruption due to capacity or factory closings etc.)
  • Oversight for Logistics Supply Chain Reporting and Metrics
  • Help Negotiate International transportation contracts
  • Oversee rate analysis and comparisons
  • Tactical execution of carrier allocation balancing transit time to budget expense
  • Forecast ocean freight needs with 7+ ocean freight carriers
  • Analyze and manage 15+ trucking companies delivering cargo to Staples facilities
  • Analyze breakdowns in Supply chain and partner cross channel on problem resolution

Qualifications :

What’s needed- Basic Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of related experience in Import Operations, Supply Chain Logistics, Import Replenishment, Inventory Planning or Carrier Management
  • Proficient with excel and brio (v-look ups, charts, graphs, pivot tables)

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
