Please note this position is expected to be a hybrid work arrangement, based in the eastern time zone of the US and preferably in close proximity to the Triangle region (Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill) or Triad region (High Point, Greensboro, Winston-Salem) of North Carolina, or within a reasonable commuting distance. A semi-regular in office/on-site presence in North Carolina will be required of the Leader in this role.

Job Summary

As Senior Director of IT Development and Strategy, you will have a passion for working in the fast paces, ever-changing environment of a company that values innovation, requires the ability to pivot at the drop of a hat and provides the opportunity to grow in your career while being part of a large work family that celebrates successes. You will easily translate business needs into technology solutions that scale both technically and operationally. You will recruit top talent, manage evolving and complex demands, including multiple projects with dependencies on other internal organizations. You will grow leaders that can motivate their team to produce extraordinary results and drive accountability for delivering a quality product/service. You can rally developers and management alike to take a high level of ownership for the product vision, technical architecture, and project delivery.

  • Focus on improvement of processes and continuous evaluation of technical platforms
  • Work withing and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions across full-stack development tools and technologies without impacting delivery timeframes

Required Skills and Knowledge:


  • Solid background in coding .NET based languages (C#, C++, Web Apps, etc)
  • Proven skills estimating project size, scheduling, and executing on a committed schedule
  • Experience building strong teams and managing managers; a passion for people management and mentorship
  • Firm understanding and proficient in use of JIRA and Microsoft Teams for project management
  • Knowledge of Quality Center, Dynatrace, Veracode and like products is preferred
  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong inter-personal verbal, and written communications skills

Other Requirements

  • Must submit and pass pre-hire background check, as well as additional checks throughout employment
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check; must not have any felony convictions or specific misdemeanors, nor on state/federal debarment or exclusion lists
  • Must submit to and pass drug screen pre-employment (and throughout employment)
  • Performant is a government contractor. Certain client assignments for this position requires submission to and successful outcome of additional background and/or clearances throughout employment with the Company
  • Completion of Teleworker Agreement upon hire, and adherence to the Agreement (and related policies and procedures) including, but not limited to: able to navigate computer and phone systems as a user to work remote independently using on-line resources, must have high-speed internet connectivity, appropriate workspace able to be compliant with HIPAA, safety & ergonomics, confidentiality, and dedicated work focus without distractions during work hours

Physical Requirements

  • Job is performed in a home-office setting subject to Company approval and Teleworker Agreement (of may be standard busy office environment with moderate noise level), sits at a desk during scheduled shift, uses office phone or headset provided by the Company for calls, making outbound calls and answering inbound return calls using an office phone system, views a computer monitor, types on a keyboard and uses a mouse.
  • Reads and comprehends information in electronic (computer) or paper form (written/printed)
  • Sit/Stand 8 or more hours per day; has the option to stand as needed while on calls; reach as needed to use office equipment
  • Consistently viewing a computer screen and types frequently, but not constantly, using a keyboard to update accounts.
  • Consistently communicates on the phone as required primarily within the department and company and may include client contracts or other third party depending on assignment with account holders, may dial manually when needed; headset is also provided
  • Occasionally lift, carry, push, pull up to 10 lbs.
  • Ability to travel

Education and Experience:


  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline, or commensurate work experience acceptable. However, a Master's Degree is preferred.
  • 7+ years of people management experience, specifically with development teams.
  • 10+ years of experience with management oversight of the entire software development lifecycle to include product management, quality assurance and testing along with release control
