The Senior Data Strategist will utilize analytical methodologies to partner with clients and provide analytical leadership to account teams. The Senior Data Strategist will support a portfolio between 8 and 12 of Wheels Donlen’s most strategic customers to provide guidance on financing strategies, quarterly business reviews, fleet budgeting and forecasting, and ad-hoc customer analyses.
Essential Job Functions
- Act as a data consultant for a portfolio of 8 to 12 assigned accounts, providing analytical guidance and support in areas of fleet planning, forecasting, and budgeting.
- Collaborate with Fleet Consulting Managers, Account Managers, and other internal stakeholders to help shape the strategic direction of the fleet by defining and tracking actionable initiatives that maximize savings, compliance, safety, and other defined goals.
- Conduct strategic fleet analyses and provide accurate, timely interpretations of vehicle cost, use patterns and trends that focus on running and optimal fleet.
- Contribute to the development of long-term fleet strategy by utilizing client data analysis, new products and services, technology advancements, competitor intelligence, and industry trends.
- Assist clients in reducing operational costs and environmental impacts by proactively identifying potential areas for improvement and recommending solutions to achieve operational efficiency.
- Leverage strong communication, data visualization, and presentation skills to deliver findings of analysis and explain complex statistical concepts to a non-technical audience.
- Define and understand the analytical tools and models that support the needs of the portfolio.
- Partner with the Business Intelligence team to design, test, and implement tools and models.
- Provide high-quality research and analysis using appropriate business modeling tools supported by effective executive-level communication skills.
- Mentor and train other staff as needed.
Additional Qualifications
- Education Requirements: Bachelors required; Masters Preferred; Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or an Analytics discipline preferred
- Work Experience: five-to-seven years of progressive responsibility with substantial and proven experience in business strategy and data analysis
- Sound computer aptitude, particularly spreadsheet packages and presentation packages
- Ability to travel to client locations to deliver fleet strategy and recommendations.
- Substantial experience of data analysis, having good knowledge of relevant reporting and analytical tools (i.e. data visualization and visual data exploration tools like Tableau, etc.) and methodologies
