Description:
The Speech Language Pathologist provides and directs Speech Therapy Services to patients to include assessment and treatment, development and implementation of programs, and related professional in-services. Performs duties under the direction of physician"s orders.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide exceptional patient care
- Conduct screenings of patients at regular intervals to determine need for intervention/treatment
- Perform Evaluations
- Interprets and communicates evaluation findings to patient, family and other team members
- Provide treatment planning
- Documentation
- Participates in discharge planning
- Demonstrates sound judgement
- Other duties as deemed necessary
- Masters Degree in Speech Language Pathology {graduate of a masters level program in Speech-Language Pathology whose course work and practice meet the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) certification requirements.}
- Certificate of Clinical Competency or eligible for Clinical Fellowship Year
- Licensed to practice in the state
- Demonstrates good skills in all forms of communication
- Maintains education and development appropriate for position
- Works well with others in a spirit of team work and cooperation
- Performs position specific job functions at an acceptable level
- Supports health system mission, vision and values
- Adheres to established hospital and department guidelines
- must understand and follow policies and procedures of the department and demonstrate compliance with accreditation and regulatory compliance requirements.
