Description:

The Speech Language Pathologist provides and directs Speech Therapy Services to patients to include assessment and treatment, development and implementation of programs, and related professional in-services. Performs duties under the direction of physician"s orders.


Responsibilities include:

  • Provide exceptional patient care
  • Conduct screenings of patients at regular intervals to determine need for intervention/treatment
  • Perform Evaluations
  • Interprets and communicates evaluation findings to patient, family and other team members
  • Provide treatment planning
  • Documentation
  • Participates in discharge planning
  • Demonstrates sound judgement
  • Other duties as deemed necessary
Requirements
  • Masters Degree in Speech Language Pathology {graduate of a masters level program in Speech-Language Pathology whose course work and practice meet the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) certification requirements.}
  • Certificate of Clinical Competency or eligible for Clinical Fellowship Year
  • Licensed to practice in the state
  • Demonstrates good skills in all forms of communication
  • Maintains education and development appropriate for position
  • Works well with others in a spirit of team work and cooperation
  • Performs position specific job functions at an acceptable level
  • Supports health system mission, vision and values
  • Adheres to established hospital and department guidelines
  • must understand and follow policies and procedures of the department and demonstrate compliance with accreditation and regulatory compliance requirements.
