Solutions Architect

Responsibilities: Oversee the architecture, security, design, and testing of integrations and interoperability of software programs, vendor applications, and third-party solutions. Design solutions in consultation with analysts, designers, and system owners of vendor application systems within the public and private cloud infrastructure. Consult with customers to scope, design, document, implement, and deliver end-to-end solutions. Assess client requirements and help customers understand Landis + Gyr solutions and their impact on business efficiencies. Create solution designs and resolve related issues. Identify, analyze, and extract key data from heterogeneous systems and architect and deliver new solutions and services. Contribute to Smart Grid Services culture by actively participating in the evolution of best practices, tools, and processes and collaborate with analysts, designers, and system owners in the testing of newly-integrated software programs and applications. Support the integration testing phase of software and applications under development in order to identify and remedy potential problem areas and build relationships with vendors of utility applications deployed in the Smart Grid Energy Services sector. Ensure that integration projects meet business requirements and goals, fulfill end-user requirements, and identify and resolve systems issues. Develop standards, best practices, patterns and processes to support and facilitate integration projects. Domestic travel to unanticipated client sites up to 30%.


Requirements: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field and five years experience in the job offered or five years experience with Oracle or SQL Server databases*. Experience must include three years of experience with each of the following: wireless technologies; utility domain experience; relational database experience; Enterprise integration utilizing web services; XML, SOAP, WSDL; and data access patterns and frameworks. Experience may be gained concurrently. Domestic travel to unanticipated client sites up to 30%.
