L.L.Bean is currently searching for a Software QA Analyst to join the Information Services team located in Freeport, Maine.
In this important role, this person will work under moderate supervision and conduct a wide range of quality-control tests and analyses to ensure software meets or exceeds specified standards and end-user requirements. The successful candidate will execute moderately complex tests and will typically be assigned to medium-sized projects or a phase of a larger project within one application suite. They will also mentor more junior members of the testing team.

Responsibilities:
  • Develops test plan for 1-2 integrated systems. The scope of the test plan and all subsequent testing activities may include, depending on the project, functional testing, system testing, integration testing, regression testing and data validation testing
  • Works with the business analyst to understand system requirements and provides feedback on quality requirements
  • Develops manual and automated tests (as directed) and executes test cases based on system and business requirements
  • Experience testing with browser based developer tools
  • Experience with test Ecommerce web applications
  • Prepares and manages test data
  • Works with the project team to estimate QA work
  • Creates and revises test plans based on business process rules and desired functionality
  • Executes tests according to established scripts and provides QA signoff on parts of an application
  • Documents test results and statistics
  • Revises test scripts to reflect results and to correct errors/omissions
  • Researches test results to determine causes of bugs (if possible)
  • Accurately reports issues, tracks the progress of those issues, validates the resolution and updates tickets appropriately
  • Periodically reviews all outstanding bugs to determine if they are still outstanding
  • Supports regression testing process
  • Adheres to project timelines
  • Identifies opportunities to enhance the efficiency of the testing processes
  • Acts as an informational resource to developers as they troubleshoot technical issues
  • Provides recommendation for final QA signoff
  • Works independently and collaboratively with team; provides regular updates to leader
  • Mentors junior members of the testing team
  • Manages issues on a daily basis and escalates issues as appropriate

Education Level: 2-Year Associates Degree
Years of Experience: 2+ years

Skills and Qualifications:
  • Experience with the software quality assurance function required
  • Experience working in eCommerce projects preferred
  • Experience with QA Automation tools and processes, ability to run automation scripts and open defects
  • Ability to identify data requirements and prepare data using SQL
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in business and technical terms
  • Proficient in usage of Microsoft Office applications, mainframe-based, client-server and Web applications
  • Experience executing and writing functional test cases required
  • Demonstrated ability to consult on quality assurance functions
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to coordinate/manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Flexible; able to adapt to changing priorities within a rapidly changing business environment
  • Good follow-through and strong attention to detail
  • Highly motivated, self starter
  • Strong interpersonal skills; adept at establishing and maintaining strong partnerships with peers and members of a cross-functional work team
  • Experience working with team members in remote locations.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor more junior members of the team.
  • Demonstrated collaboration skills, excellent communication skills (verbal and written), strong appreciation for standards and excellent presentation skills
  • Knowledge and experience with various systems and business processes at L.L.Bean related to order capturing, research or history
