About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Software Engineering Manager in the Enterprise Content Management team. We support the creation and delivery of documents for lines of business throughout Wells Fargo. The role will lead teams working on existing mainframe applications and efforts to migrate functionality to distributed and cloud platforms as we move toward our Business Product & Platform Architecture.

In this role, you will:
  • Manage a team of individual contributor engineers and perhaps less experienced engineering managers
  • Ensure the craftsmanship, security, availability, resilience, and scalability of solutions developed by the teams or third party providers
  • Develop actionable short and long-term product roadmaps, by partnering with business product managers, lead systems architects, and more experienced engineers
  • Make decisions and resolve issues regarding strategic products of engineering teams to meet business objectives
  • Oversee engineering teams to deliver commitments aligned to strategic product priorities
  • Interpret and develop security, stability, and scalability within key areas of technology risk
  • Collaborate and consult with agile teams and product managers to drive outcomes
  • Interact directly with third party vendors and technology service providers
  • Mentor and guide talent development of direct reports and assist in hiring talent
  • Drive and maximize partnership between interfacing applications related to strategic system architecture. Facilitate collaboration between the organizations - technology, architecture, info security and 3rd party vendors.
  • Align with decision makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support technology solutions for all aspects of the organization.
  • Direct and manage the design, development, testing of all software systems, including external and internal business processing systems.
  • Benchmark, analyze and make recommendations for the continual improvement of the IT tactical and strategic applications, data, infrastructure, platforms, overall systems.
  • Scale the organization by mentoring and designating select engineers as "Technical Leads" and delegate to them the work of guiding the technical direction of more and more work efforts.
  • Develop and maintain IT disaster recovery and business continuity plans for all key systems.
  • Provide monthly review of metrics with comparisons to targeted goals and objectives.
  • Develop and maintain an IT roadmap which outlines the plan to reach short-term and long-term goals through the use of technology solutions with tie-ins to key business strategies.
  • Provide key information which enables management to make better decisions around technology investments.
Required Qualifications, US:
  • 6+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 4+ years of Management experience
  • 4+ years of Experience designing, developing, and implementing large scale, complex software applications leveraging Information Technology architecture design concepts, strategies, and standards
  • 4+ years of Experience with Agile Scrum (Daily Standup, Sprint Planning and Sprint Retrospective meetings) and/or Kanban
  • 4+ years of Experience in Document Generation, Print and/or Mailing technologies.

Pay range:




New York - $133,300- $237,100
