JOB PURPOSE

The Software Engineer will work under direction of the Senior Systems Analyst utilizes program design to create software programs. Our Application Developer also tests and debugs programs and completes modifications based on client needs.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Participates in program design and receives assistance from Senior Software Architects to review for understanding
• Confers with Senior Software Architects on program design specs and, under direction of Senior Systems Analyst converts into code.
• Tests and works with assistance from Senior Systems Analyst to debug program.
• May train SMT personnel on the use and operation of applications with which they have been involved.
• Under direction of the Senior System Architect, makes modifications or updates to software to meet customer or users’ needs.
• Update and modify technical documentation as directed by the development staff.
• Works independently and without direct supervision on most projects
• Travels to sporting events to support software projects when necessary

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• BS Computer Science, Engineering or related field required
• Must be have previous professional experience with graphical user interfaces
• Must have solid background and knowledge of Object Oriented methodologies
• Must have 1+ years previous professional experience with Object Oriented Development (C++, Java or VB)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Solid programming skills
• Basic understanding of systems development life cycle
• Good organizational and communication skills
• Intermediate knowledge of development, unit testing and support.
• Basic knowledge of user design, implementation and user acceptance.
• Ability to travel ocassionally
