JOB TITLE: Shop Mechanic Lead (San Diego)

JOB SUMMARY:
SCA maintains a fleet of sweepers, dump trucks, flatbed trucks, pickup trucks, trailers, attenuators, and various other support equipment. At SCA, we are committed to building a strong team environment and opportunities for organization advancement. The Lead Shop Mechanic position is a critical role in our company. As a Lead Shop Mechanic with SCA, you will be responsible for repairing vehicles and maintaining our fleet of sweeper trucks. You will also guide the work of other mechanics. POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:

• Location: 285 Pawnee Street, San Marcos, CA, 92078
• Hours: Monday through Friday from 6AM to 4PM (Occasional Saturday)
• Shift: Full-Time – Dayshift
• Pay: $33 to $35 per hour

WHAT WE DO?

Our power sweeping solutions include sweeping parking lots, streets, and highways as well as construction, industrial, and special event sites. Our fleet uses the latest mechanical broom sweepers and regenerative air vacuum trucks. In addition to being the leader in professional power sweeping, SCA also provides state-of-the-art jet-vac services where we can perform collection, system preventive maintenance cleaning, and identify infrastructure issues before they occur.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain the cleanliness of trucks and support equipment
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of the shop and yard
• Maintain accurate records of each repair performed
• Perform chassis preventative maintenance and light repairs to chassis and up fit components
• Assist senior mechanics with advanced repairs
• Change tires
• Complete basic inspections and associated repairs
• Work performed in outdoor environments and exposure to variable and sometimes adverse weather conditions.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• 3-5 years of mechanic experience or recent trade school graduate
• Toolbox and basic hand tools
• Ability to perform standard chassis PM services (fluid and filter changes and grease components)
• Ability to perform basic inspections and complete basic repairs
• Ability and willingness to assist higher level mechanics and perform repairs under their supervision
• Have a valid driver’s license, preferred
• Experience working on heavy equipment, preferred
• Willingness to learn and have a positive attitude
• Consistent attendance
• Use all required PPE and work safely
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work a flexible schedule, including overtime on occasion
• Work in high noise environments with exposure to vibration and fumes
• Active, physical work occasionally involving lifting 50 lbs. Frequently involves carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, reaching, and standing.
