Shop Maintenance and Parts Runner Job Description

The ideal candidate must be punctual, motivated, detailed-oriented, honest and willing to learn.

Shop Maintenance and Parts Runner’s primary function will to be pick up and deliver parts and assist in maintaining a clean and safe working environment within the garage area.

Qualifications:

• Must be able to pass pre-employment background, physical and drug screening
• Must have a valid drivers license with a clean driving record (CDL preferred, or willing to obtain)
• Knowledge of Southeast Michigan area
• Knowledge of basic tools, vehicle parts and shop equipment (preferred)

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Pick up parts at various vendors in a timely and professional manner
• Help organize and keep accountability of parts
• Maintaining accurate paperwork during pick-ups and deliveries
• Maintaining shop vehicles including, but not limited to fueling, checking basic fluid levels, and keeping vehicles clean.
• Assist mechanics and technicians as needed. This includes, but is not limited to moving vehicles, cleaning work areas, and emptying garbage. Other light mechanical repairs if the candidate shows a desire to learn other skills in repair and vehicle maintenance
• Snow removal from sidewalks and parking lot areas; cutting lawn and basic outdoor maintenance
• Work in a safe manner following all company safety procedures, rules and regulations
• Other duties assigned by management

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to perform above requirements for 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday
• Ability to work in adverse weather conditions; as well as comfortable driving in inclement weather conditions such as snow and ice
• Must be able to lift 50lbs without restrictions

Job Type: Full time, Monday through Friday 8a – 4:30p.

Pay: Up to $17/hr, paid weekly; performance review every 6 months, raises based on

performance review

Benefits: Health Insurance paid by company after 90-day probationary period; employee responsible for co-pays

One week vacation after one year of employment

Sick time off according to Michigan State Law

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
