DESCRIPTION: The Logistics Specialist will coordinate shipments from the factory and provide logistics‐related customer service to our customers and their customers.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

‐ Arrange carrier pickups that conform to traffic requirements and specific sales order

requirements, balancing factory and/or customer costs with transit times.

‐ Prepare bills of lading and other shipping documentation.

‐ Coordinate and communicate with Packing personnel to ensure orders are packed in time for

estimated carrier arrival.

‐ Coordinate and communicate with shipping/loading personnel to help facilitate a smooth traffic

flow of flatbed and LTL carriers for loading.

‐ Add freight charges to orders that shipped via prepay & add (if required by the customer) as

soon as the freight charges are available.

‐ Ensure Goods Issue (GI) is completed for all orders immediately upon departure from the

factory.

‐ Provide all necessary customs documentation required for export orders. ie: Proforma invoice,

NAFTA, COO (Country of Origin) and SED (Shippers Export Declaration)

‐ Communicate shortage situations to planners/customers and track orders shipped short to

ensure short parts are sent to the customer upon receipt.

‐ Coordinate expedited shipments with urgency and provide customers with multiple shipping

options to satisfy their needs.

‐ Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

EDUCATION: Associate’s degree or equivalent required. Working knowledge of domestic and

international shipping requirements essential.

EXPERIENCE: Must have a minimum of 2‐4 years related experience in a fast‐paced environment.
