Job description
As a Senior Vendor Manager, responsibilities include negotiating and managing contracts, sourcing and managing vendors, and driving value and compliance with vendors with sourcing and governance activities. You will interact regularly with internal stakeholders to understand and develop requirements, measure performance and drive optimization and increase valued throughout all stages of the vendor lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as first line between vendor and internal stakeholders to understand requirements, identify suitable vendors, lead the sourcing process, and negotiate with vendors to secure the best price, service delivery and quality.
  • Directly lead and drive the contract management and negotiation process, interfacing with Legal as needed.
  • Deliver tangible and measurable cost savings to the company by utilizing key sourcing strategies including supplier consolidation, leveraged volume, competitive bidding, optimization, and fact-based negotiation techniques.
  • Support center-led vendor management program including governance, policies and procedures that accelerate and support the business enhance spend transparency.
  • Develop and lead competitive assessment/RFX process in collaboration with internal stakeholders and manage end-to-end process.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to facilitate and lead vendor evaluation, selection, risk assessment, contract negotiations/execution, and guide vendor onboarding/offboarding and performance management.
  • Manage vendor onboarding and risk assessment process – conduct initial and ongoing risk assessment, assess agreement, data access and collect key onboarding documents and work with AP to activate vendor. For high risk/mission critical vendors, proactively partner with internal stakeholders to manage third party risks (e.g. business impact, operational risk, info sec access) and develop mitigation plans.
  • Lead analysis and reporting activities: develop reporting and analytical packages, providing decision support and analysis.
  • Manage, coach, and lead direct of 2 and indirect team members.
  • Support teams by assisting with various cross departmental initiatives and projects.

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant work experience
  • 10+ experience in a healthcare vendor management or strategic sourcing practice and track record managing an indirect spend program.
  • Deep knowledge of standard contract terms and conditions
  • Deep understanding of the source-to-cash process
  • Experience in automated procurement systems (Workday, Oracle, SAP, or Coupa)
  • Advanced experience in Microsoft Office Suite. (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Strong written, verbal, negotiation, and planning skills
  • Have a “hands on” approach working in a fast-paced environment, solve problems effectively and creatively while maintaining a high level of flexibility, professionalism
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills at all levels of the organization
  • Mature interpersonal skills with proven ability to interact with diverse audiences
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to be creative and develop out-of-the box solutions and to work with abstract concepts to develop strategies and opportunities
  • Proven positive experience working with vendors/stakeholders
  • Ability to analyze, evaluate and present complex results to varied audiences
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
