Your Opportunity
Facilitate sensory panels to support our Research and Development (R&D) department. Lead the sample preparation and distributing product and play a key role in supporting the sanitation and testing within our laboratories.
In this role you will:

Read and develop sensory protocol and prepare panel execution accordingly

Apply sensory evaluation methodologies to organize and execute consumer and trained panels through independent and team work, including, but not limited to, product procurement and panelist scheduling

Maintain thorough lab records for panel instructions, protocols and panel execution records

Ensure a clean and organized laboratory work environment including managing/purchasing lab supply inventory, maintenance, and routine cleaning

Foster a positive consumer and customer service culture for our panelists and other participants

Collaborate within all areas of R&D and cross functionally to keep open lines of communication

Provide support to training other departments or locations for sensory evaluation needs, such as R&D or plant quality teams

Create and submit samples as needed for analytical and microbiological lab work

Support additional projects with Quality Services

Continue to increase knowledge about sensory methods and objectives

Manage our Odor Neutral Policy: when operating in our Tastepanel area, must agree to not wearing perfumes or scented products and ensure others adhere to policy guidelines

Bachelor's Degree in a scientific or mathematical related discipline is required; however, other unrelated types of degrees will be considered but must be combined with a minimum of 5 years of work experience in food manufacturing, sensory science, or food Research & Development

Prior lab experience or internship

Familiarity with Sensory Evaluation/Laboratory research testing protocol

Accurate attention to detail with prioritization skills
-
Good analytical, mathematical and problem-solving skills
-
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask

Strong communication skills (written and oral)
-
Customer Service communication skills
-
Strong computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office

Ability to lift up to 40 pounds is a must, ability to walk/stand for most work hours

Scheduled 8 hour shifts M-F between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. (shifts will be assigned by manager on a weekly basis)
