Overview:

The Payroll Senior Analyst position is responsible for performing a variety of complex payroll duties and ensuring accurate administration of the payroll operations for over 25,000 domestic team members. The position is essential to ensuring the accuracy of the payroll data by regularly auditing the payroll process, providing guidance and management of the payroll processing system, and resolving technical and procedural problems. The role is a subject matter expert responsible and accountable for multiple tax processes in over 25+ FEINs in 33+ states. The Payroll Senior Analyst will research all employees to determine the proper taxation and research/implement a process to ensure correct taxation in payroll.

  • Conducts audits regularly to determine any variances with payroll data. Responsible for reviewing payroll data to determine the cause of any variances or discrepancies and collaborates with needed departments to correct the cause of the issues.
  • Oversees the employee compensation process to ensure all payments are accurate and timely. Regularly reviews payroll data to ensure accuracies of pay rates, hours paid, salaries paid, non worked time with pay, paid time off, and other payroll related items.
  • Analyzes payroll data from our payroll system and ADP Tax (Via Smart Compliance) and ensures that data in both systems is accurate and free of error. Identifies any variances between the systems and addresses correction of the data.
  • Aids in the reconciliation process of payroll data on a periodic, quarterly, and yearly basis. Ensures that pay codes in the payroll system are setup accurately and compliant with federal and state laws.
  • Aggregates and supports key financial information used in the Company’s monthly internal reporting, and quarterly and annual financial reporting related to payroll tax.
  • Initiate POAs for all states and assist with building a master list of all company payroll tax account information.
  • Works closely with the payroll accountant to assist with reconciling the payroll liability accounts and determines any corrective actions that need to be taken to ensure general ledger liability balances.
  • Assures that all past due Federal and State Taxes are researched and addressed: propose/implement final solution.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment in both our physical location as well as remotely as required.
Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field of study.
  • 5+ years of payroll management experience
  • Ability to team and collaborate in cross functional environment.
  • Acquisition/Merger experience, preferred but not required
  • Continuous improvement experience.
  • Demonstrated history of innovative change management.
  • Accounting/Finance experience preferred.
  • Certified Payroll Profession (CPP) designation preferred.
  • People management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills catered to a wide variety of audiences.
  • Highly analytic approach to identifying causes and drivers of issues and developing value-driven solutions.
  • Strong communication skills, including being a good listener and articulating complex issues in a crisp, compelling, and insightful manner.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency


Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
