As a member of Starbucks LAC Technology Team, you will play a key role in transforming the way we engage with our licensed partners to protect and uphold the Starbucks brand across the globe, with a focus on technical operations of a vendor-lead solution provided to our Licensees.

As a systems analyst sr – LAC, you will:

  • Drive technology operations and supplier performance for the Starbucks Digital Solutions platform in LAC, ensuring that optimum customer service is provided.
  • Monitor the operation of the technology infrastructure required to deliver technology services and products to meet the needs of Starbucks in LAC (focusing on hardware).
  • Preparation for new or changed services, operation of the change process, the maintenance of regulatory, legal, and professional standards, and the monitoring of performance of systems and services in relation to their contribution to business performance.
  • Drive a continuous service improvement program, ensuring increased customer satisfaction for Starbucks Digital Solutions platform in LAC, through leadership of the technology operations function.
  • Represent Starbucks Technology to Licensees by being the primary technology escalation liaison and partnering with key Suppliers to resolve incidents.

Summary of Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:


Solution Design:

  • Supports project initiation efforts by assisting in the definition of project scope and the identification/selection of targeted solution(s). Assists project management in the development of work plans, effort estimates, and delivery timelines.
  • Gathers, analyzes, and documents solution requirements. Facilitates user story creation and backlog grooming in an agile delivery environment.
  • Utilizes LEAN techniques to develop business process designs and improve operations via process re-engineering efforts.
  • Creates solution designs utilizing user-centric design techniques.
  • Coordinates with business, development, and testing teams and leverages relevant process and technology proficiency to propose optimal solution(s) options delivering required business capabilities.
  • Proactively identifies and effectively assesses improvement opportunities (productivity/efficiency gains, cost savings, etc.)
  • Utilizes agile delivery methodologies and participates on scrum teams in execution of solution delivery projects.
  • Considers overall user technology experience in thoughtfully designing engaging solutions.
  • Applies Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) design concepts.

System Configuration & Testing:

  • Performs application configuration (i.e. create attributes, workflows, and UI changes) in support of solution delivery initiatives.
  • Partners with development team in agile design/development of custom solution components. Performs code reviews as required.
  • Defines and develops approaches for data conversion. Performs the extract, load, and validation of converted data.
  • Supports solution testing efforts by developing test plans, preparing test environments, performing test execution, and validating test results.

Production Support:

  • Provides 24*7 support of critical systems.
  • Demonstrates system proficiency and leverages subject matter expertise to perform root cause analysis and assess issue trends. Coordinates issue resolution with vendors and/or cross-functional teams. Provides timely and thorough communication regarding issue status/resolution with end-users and other key stakeholders.
  • Creates and maintains systems documentation (e.g. Wiki, Knowledge Base Articles) Develops and facilitates system training.

Leadership:

  • Partners with Licensees and business teams to propose solutions/improvements.
  • Works effectively in a self-directed manner with minimal direction from lead and/or manager.
  • Leads smaller streams of work. Interfaces across all organization levels comfortably.
  • Generates new ideas and influences decisions within and outside team.
  • Mentors team members and peers in developing required technical skills, functional knowledge, and business acumen.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of industry trends and innovative thought leadership.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrates working knowledge of all facets of systems development lifecycle and IT operations.
  • Strong knowledge of configuration management and key integration points of relevant applications/modules/platforms.
  • Leverages user-centric design concepts in conjunction with agile prototyping, development, and testing to deploy highly engaging technology solutions to the end user.
  • Ability to couple technology expertise with deep understanding of business requirements to design and deploy highly reliable, scalable, and sustainable global technology solutions.
  • Collaboratively and objectively assesses benefits, costs, and viability of proposed solution options and drives alignment across a diverse group of stakeholders.
  • Applies knowledge of business principles and technology practices to achieve successful outcomes in cross-functional activities.
  • Working understanding of Retail Technology hardware.

  • Fluent Spanish speaking and writing capabilities
