Job Description

The Senior Software Asset and Vendor Manager is responsible for strategic sourcing and leading the operational day-to-day supplier management activities for products, software and services delivered by Solution Delivery with the aim to maximize value. This role is responsible for fostering optimal relationships with all suppliers, ensuring contractual obligations are honored and financial penalties/rewards are adhered to. This role is also responsible to ensure new service requirements are managed in an effective and timely way to minimize any disruption to ongoing service delivery and performance.

Job Duties

Sourcing Strategy

  • Develop and govern the sourcing strategy and sourcing standards for the Solution Delivery Function, in alignment with Olympus’ broader commercial framework.
  • Lead the selection of strategic third-party partners, such as technology suppliers and outsourcing and professional services companies.
  • Analyze and report on the commercial performance of Solution Delivery’s strategic third-party partners to provide insights that lead to improvement of services.
  • Analyze trends from multiple data sources to leverage value add and inform future service level improvements.


  • Procurement Operations within Global IT
  • Monitor contractual obligations; feedback findings to all relevant parties, ensuring shortfalls are identified and rectified at the earliest opportunity.
  • Provide guidance in defining contract structures and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Operational Level Agreements (OLAs).
  • Communicate key contractual obligations to which third party suppliers should adhere to (including Program Managers, Project Managers and Service Delivery Managers).


  • Manage Supplier Relationships
  • Manage relationships with Solution Delivery’s third-party suppliers, from a contractual perspective so that they are used effectively to deliver maximum value to Olympus.
  • Oversee the management of all day-to-day engagements and operational activities with suppliers.
  • Provide interventions for issues with third party suppliers; using contractual and commercial levers to achieve successful outcomes for Olympus.


  • People Management - Lead, motivate, develop, and appraise team members so that their individual and collective performance is of the required standard and meets the current and future needs of the business.


  • Other responsibilities / duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or equivalent and related experience.


  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the field of IT.


  • Minimum 3 years of experience in managing multiple vendors and driving contract negotiations.


  • Minimum 3 years of experience in managing staff, including work review, performance reviews and day to day coaching.

  • Experience in IT application services and/or IT infrastructure services.


PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in the Medical industry, either in a Consulting Company or directly in a Life Science Healthcare Company preferred.


  • Demonstrable interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrable problem-solving skills.


  • Demonstrable coordinating skills.
