Position: Senior Services Program Coordinator

Department: Senior Services Department

Reports to: Director of Senior Services

FLSA Status: Exempt

Rich Township is one of 30 townships in Cook County, Illinois and serves 10 municipalities including: Country Club Hills, Flossmoor, Hazel Crest, Homewood, Matteson, Olympia Fields, Park Forest, Richton Park, Tinley Park, and University Park.

Position Summary: Under the direction of the Senior Services Director, the program coordinator is responsible for the direction and leadership of In-Home Community Workers, and Community Outreach. The program coordinator will recruit, interview, train and supervise in-home workers. The program coordinator will also have the responsibility of working with the Community to promote and build on the programs offered by Senior Services. In addition, the program coordinator will be responsible for working with other programs, including special events for Seniors, lunch programs, and senior center activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, interview, screen and supervise In-Home Community Workers.
  • Intake new clients, matching appropriate workers with clients and conducting introductory meetings for In-Home Community Workers.
  • Monitor worker's performance and client's approval of work.
  • Maintain client and worker records and compile service statistics for billing of in-home services.
  • Create, manage, and maintain social service agencies referral manual.
  • Call and Visit clients intermittently no less than bi-monthly to check in on their care.
  • Meet with In-Home Community Workers monthly for in-services.
  • Track In Home Community Workers daily appointment, work hours, mileage.
  • Participate in meetings, workshops, seminars, and conferences as requested by the Senior Director.
  • Support the Receptionist as needed (i.e., scheduling Senior for activities).
  • Report any potential problems to Senior Service Director that may affect Seniors or Staff at the center.
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Education:

  • Associate degree in related discipline or a minimum of 2+ years of related experience.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing situations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel Publisher, and PowerPoint required.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Valid driver’s license and insurance required.
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull or carry a minimum of 25lbs.

Experience:

  • Experience working with various socioeconomic population is a plus.
  • Experience working in a nonprofit, social service organization or Senior Services environment is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Rich Township communities is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
