Duty Schedule:

Monday-Friday 8 am-5 pm daily, with some flexibility to accommodate evening and weekend activities.

Summary/Objective of Position:

Project Coordinator positions support the initiation and implementation of the NARCH activities of the Sh1dent Enhancement Project at Dine College, including a range of activities with both high school students and public health undergraduates. They will provide instruction as well as support to other instructional staff in conducting the summer and academic year programs. including meetings, travel. follow up, and evaluation, as well as sh1dent mentoring at all level.

Project Coordinators will manage the activities of the SREP and ISEP summer activities, including but not limited to: 1) working to support faculty in teaching and training activities: 2) attending, teaching, and assisting with all presentations and lectures related to public health and health research in public health fields; and 3) record keeping of student work including some grading and tracking of assignments when assigned.
Project Coordinators will be involved in data collection from the summer programs, archiving materials, and assisting in developing recruiting materials for the Summer SREP and ISEP programs as well as academic year activities with high school and undergraduate students.
They will participate in assisting and mentoring undergraduate and high school students in the classroom, and in field settings during internships and service learning.
They will work on other on-going research projects of the public health program under the direction of the supervisor.
They will assist in developing and drafting portions of reports and manuscripts related to SREP, ISEP, NARCH in general. or related research.


QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience


Minimum:

Must have completed MPH degree in the area of public health or closely related field including teaching assistant experiences.

Preferred:

MPH degree with Indigenous integrated content. experience in mentoring/teaching Native students.


Knowledge:

Basic understanding of the core areas of public health, including health education, health promotion, epidemiology, surveillance, and the program development cycle of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation
Public Health Research processes, including design, sampling, qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis, and hypothesis testing.
Knowledge of health status measures and health services structure of Navajo Nation.

Skills:

Presentation of content material
Familiarity with word processing, presentation and spreadsheet programs
English language reading and writing

Abilities:

Engage with learners to instruct, mentor. and inspire learning
Effectively follow instructions, work independently, and multitask with the instructional and research teams to provide comprehensive services for student learning and mentoring.

Physical Requirements, Work Environment & Travel:

Some travel will be necessary for work on campuses and centers of the College during instructional periods. and for research and networking in general.
Lengthy periods working on computers or at other office tasks

Other Requirement(s):

Oral fluency in Navajo is highly desirable. but not mandatory
Must have COVID vaccinations and a vaccination card.
