The Catalysts division is the world’s leading supplier of environmental and process catalysts. The group employs more than 5,000, with over 30 manufacturing sites worldwide. We develop and produce mobile emissions catalysts as well as process catalysts and technologies for a broad range of customers worldwide. The Catalysts division also provides precious metals procurement, sales and related services. We continue to expand our leading role in catalyst technology through continuous process and product innovation.

We are searching for a professional like you who will plan, manage and execute complex projects at lab and plant scales. Conduct and participate in all phases of plant trial execution including planning, setup, execution, data generation, and data analysis. Lead the development of new products/processes and provide technical support to the existing product lines including troubleshooting and process optimization. Increase knowledge and understanding of products, testing methods, applications, and installation techniques. Lead the development of new products and processes during trials at the three CCR manufacturing sites. The person in this role will travel approximately 10% between the three CCR sites in McIntyre, GA, Savannah, GA, and Attapulgus, GA.

As a Senior Project Engineer you create chemistry by…

• Addressing EHS requirements at BASF and other sites outside the company for direct project support maintaining BASF standards and established Safety, Health and Environmental policies and procedures.
• Developing and executing a wide variety of lab processing, experimentation, and analytics to expand the current level of process and product technology.
• Developing new testing procedures as required for product and process improvement.
• Ensuring proper documentation and reporting of results of the work completed. Results will be communicated at Project Meetings and Quarterly Updates.
• Planning and leading manufacturing trials at the three CCR sites, and documenting work for all phases of trials as needed to coordinate efforts of the project team
• Identifying quality and productivity improvements and communicate findings, ideas and acting as a champion for change implementation.
• Assuring the effectiveness and accuracy of operating procedures and developing and implement Management of Change (MoC) protocols.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

• Possessing educational background in Chemical Engineering (or related).
• Having previous relevant experience in running plant-scale trials.
• Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma principles and having process troubleshooting experience.
• Passion and commitment to a Zero Incident Mindset.

• Attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills.
