Responsibilities

Position Summary:

The Senior Analyst, Population Health Insights provides analytics in support of population health and value-based care. The Senior Analyst uses complex statistical analyses to surface insights and develop strategies for maximizing health, quality, performance, and value.
The Senior Analyst will be part of the newly created Population Health Insights Team. The team’s goal is to create analytics capacity, standardized processes and reporting structures to integrate large disparate data sets (initially value-based claims, then clinical, social determinants, other administrative) to drive the efficient, accurate and timely use of data. Analytics efforts and workflows will focus on the practical and operational applications of data to drive and inform decision-making.

Reponsibilities may include:
  • Assists in leading efforts to build a strong, supportive, coordinated data culture among the data users and analysts across Population Health and will act as a mentor and resource for colleagues.
  • The analyst will work with and manipulate large, complex data sets, employing advanced statistical methods.
  • Leads the identification, collection, and manipulation of data from a wide variety of financial (internal claims) and clinical internal databases and external sources (e.g., Medicare/Medicaid website, CMS SAF files, etc.). Identifies and accesses appropriate data resources to support analyses and recommendations.
  • Helps build centralized analytics capacity to support initiatives on the Population Health Insights team within Enterprise Population Health.
  • Understands and defines data definitions and workflows, and provides insights on how these data sets can be converted into usable and actionable information.
  • Creates and conducts modeling of newly proposed and existing CMS value-based models.
  • Prepares and effectively presents analytic or project results to leadership, and other key stakeholders, for review and decision-making.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5 years finance or analytics experience in a healthcare environment, 2-3 year healthcare (payer/ provider) experience and database querying skills.
  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field(s) of study such as health administration, management information systems or business administration. Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience with Business Intelligence tools preferred. 5+ years of experience creating stored procedures and functions preferred.
  • Master's Degree in relevant field(s) strongly preferred.
  • Intermediate to advanced level knowledge of SQL and advanced statistical programming (R, Python, others) strongly preferred.
  • Claims data experience preferred
  • Intermediate level knowledge and comfort with Google Suite products preferred.
  • Ability to use and create data visualizations from disparate data sources using a data visualization toolkit (Tableau, Power BI, or others) preferred
  • Proficiency in reading, interpreting, and formulating complex computer systems programming/rules preferred.

Pay Range

$30.55 - $48.73 /hour
