Duties:
- Performs a variety of payroll tasks related to the University Payroll processes that require advanced knowledge.
- Responsible for payroll processing for 7000+ employees
- Responsible for cost transfers and payment review/approval
- Responsible for management of the timekeeping system
- Works with payroll coordinators and answers payroll and timekeeping questions.
- Manage/prepare retirement statements for withholding accounts to relative retirement accounts.
- Prepares payroll liability journals.
- Assist with payroll tax withholding and 941, w2, 1042, 1099 payroll reporting.
- Assist in all system testing
- Assist employees via email and/or phone with any payroll-related questions
- Reviews garnishment entry for accuracy.
- Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.

Job Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree
Experience:
- 24 months of experience in a payroll or accounting role.
Skills:
- Knowledge of Accounting principles, practices, methods, and terminology
- Advanced computer skills in MS Office, accounting software and databases
- Ability to choose the right mathematical method or formula to solve a problem
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, analysis, and communication skills
Preferences:
- PeopleSoft experience
- 18 hours of Accounting at a college level
- High level of verbal and written skills in communicating in English
- Experience with Payroll and/or Foreign National tax
Working Conditions:
- Physical: Sitting for prolonged periods. Manual dexterity. Use of computer and answer telephone.
- Environmental: Standard Office Environment.
