Job Overview:

Macy’s Media Network is looking for a dynamic self-starter to join our team. Reporting directly to the Head of Sales, the Sales Lead will be responsible for driving advertising revenue growth among some of MMN’s largest key accounts. Working directly with key stakeholders at recognized brands and agencies as well as Macy’s internal partners, the Sales Lead serves as a trusted partner for clients developing highly impactful media strategies. Using a consultative approach, the Sales Lead will work with clients and merchants to develop a deep understanding of the business, identify relevant opportunities, and develop recommendations for innovative marketing solutions that will meet their marketing objectives. The Lead will be responsible for all sales-related activities such as presenting our capabilities, analyzing client needs, developing custom proposals, and applying learnings from campaigns to future strategies. The Lead will partner closely with cross-functional colleagues (incl. Media Planning, Analytics, Product, and Finance) in the planning, execution, and measurement of campaigns. This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys consulting clients on media strategies and who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic, and team-focused environment.


Essential Functions:

  • Proactively develop media investment recommendations for key accounts, by analyzing multiple information sources (e.g., sales and receipts plans; historic investment levels; customer data trends; past campaign learnings)
  • Understand client objectives and business opportunities for upcoming seasons and pitch tactics / media mix recommendations that align with those objectives; be highly strategic, particularly in the identification of relevant audience strategies
  • Taking a “one team” mindset, collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners (e.g., Account Management, Media Planning, Campaign Management, Analytics) in the planning, execution, and measurement of campaigns. Be highly considerate of lead times and downstream activities when planning new campaigns
  • Multi-task a high volume of campaigns while applying a high level of attention to detail, ensuring that all special requirements of the key accounts are consistently met
  • Review results of campaigns to continuously look for opportunities to grow and expand client relationships
  • Actively listen to the needs of advertisers and feed new ideas to the product development team to continuously innovate and optimize MMN’s offering

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of ad sales experience for on- and off-site media, including selling to large key accounts and agencies
  • Deep knowledge of the online advertising space with an understanding of audience-based selling and the technologies that enable it; experience in retail media preferred
  • Additional experience in media strategy and/or audience strategy is a big plus! We are looking for a consultative seller
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; proficiency in developing highly impactful PowerPoint presentations
  • Experience working in highly collaborative, cross-functional environments
  • High level of detail orientation and ability to succeed in navigating interdependent workstreams
  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Business, Marketing, or related field
