Efficient sourcing and timely delivery of jet fuel is crucial to an airline’s operation and financial results. This position will be responsible to implement outstanding fuel transaction reporting, tracking and analysis for conventional and SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel) for primarily United Airlines and its affiliates.

The Senior Manager, Fuel Finance is the bridge between supply & logistics team and fuel accounting to support the detailed tracking of fuel spend components balancing managerial accounting needs with financial reporting needs.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately capture the spectrum of term and spot purchase and sale transactions with detailed breakdown of components and drivers, track changes in contractual components, and fuel prices.
• Support the fuel accounting team for month-end close activities in preparation of all fuel statements, resolving outstanding issues timely.
• Handle the analysts responsible for timely supplier payments, pre-payment reconciliations and dispute resolutions. Coordinate the cash flow and working capital across the system.
• Build and maintain periodic and ad-hoc fuel spend analytics breaking down and aggregating price and volume components on dimensions including contract, geography, market prices, fees/tariffs, taxes.
• Provide accurate near real-time fuel price feeds to internal customers including fuel tankering and network profitability systems.
• Handle fuel volume, price and inventory short and long-term forecasts and track vs actuals. Prepare presentations for senior management.

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain, or another related field.
• 5 years of experience in a similar finance function.
• Experience with transportation fuel, or aviation fuel.
• Proficiency in data analysis and visualization, reporting and business intelligence tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's Degree
• CPA
• Sophisticated user of Microsoft Excel with knowledge of PowerBI, and SQL.
• Familiarity with Fuel IT systems such as ION RightAngle.
