Downtown Streets Team (DST) is looking for a Senior Human Resources Manager to help us end homelessness through the dignity of work and the power of community.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:
The Senior HR Manager of STE is responsible for hiring, onboarding, paying, evaluating, troubleshooting, and offboarding all 70 to 100 Street Team Enterprise employees. You will be their key point-of-contact within HR. The position is part of an HR team of five people and reports to a new senior director of HR.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Hiring & Onboarding
  • Lead our STE recruiting and hiring efforts. Help continue to drive good hiring practices, recruit strong diverse candidates, and drive an effective and efficient onboarding process.
  • Oversee orientation of all STE staff to include company enrollment, equipment assignments, background check, MVR reports, I9 and Paycom.
Employee Evaluation & Training
  • Implement employee evaluation tools to be applied during the introductory period and employment reviews.
  • Establish employee growth paths through a combination of mentorship and coaching.
  • Help managers (especially first-time managers) by facilitating management training and coaching. Prioritize topics based on assessment of needs.
  • Lead our internal performance review process to facilitate colleague and manager feedback. Guide managers in providing feedback in a constructive and effective manner and help employees utilize the feedback to improve.
Employee Relations
  • Assist in conducting employee relations meetings and work with STE Staff on HR issues and investigations. This may include staff interventions and investigations.
  • Improve and drive diversity across our team with a strong focus on recruitment as well as proactive collaboration and inclusion.
  • Provide a confidential space to employees to voice their concerns.
Compliance
  • Identify legal requirements and government regulations affecting HR and ensure policies, procedures, and reporting follow local, state and federal law.
  • Oversee the maintenance of accurate personnel files and an HRIS system that meet all compliance requirements including tracing databases for all historical staff statistics.
  • Provide employee required training to meet all compliance requirements including, but not limited to Sexual Harassment and HIPAA.
Compensation and Claims
  • Oversee STE payroll and wage processing, ensuring correct and timely payment for regular wages, special payroll and final wages.
  • Lead efforts to develop an employee compensation framework to ensure we are consistent and equitable.
  • Help choose and administer our benefits programs to make sure employees have great care and resources.
  • Provide ongoing support of safety initiatives and track all incidents, accidents, and Workers' Compensation claims.
Operations
  • Direct the overall effort to reduce and improve workflows and eliminate inefficiencies within HR Operations.
  • Review MVR and coordinate insurance enrollment
  • Oversee, strengthen, and evaluate new and existing vendor relationships.
  • Monitor and implement COVID protocol for company

REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • At least 5+ years of HR experience in a medium sized organization.
  • Experience with payroll systems required, Paycom preferred.
  • Ability to perform job duties with minimal supervision
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.
  • Excellent listening comprehension, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional emotional intelligence.
  • Excellence without ego – provide five-star internal customer service helpfully and humbly.
  • Proactive collaboration – intentionally seeking out others to solve problems before they start.
  • Proficient in Microsoft programs
