$1500 sign on bonus

Project is located in Ardmore, TN. Must be willing to travel if not local. Mileage, Lodging, and Per Diem is provided.

MUST have valid driver’s license and minimum of 10+ yrs experience running a Vermeer D20 X 22 S3 Directional Drill or equivalent.

This position must have experience locating for a directional drill, of underground construction and fiber optic builds, and working in the right of way along with private property in any condition. The directional drill operator must operate equipment in accordance with company and industry standards. The directional drill operator is required to maintain equipment per service requirements and safety guidelines. The directional drill operator is responsible for communicating work progress and safety performance to the site supervisor. When not operating, must be able to install conduit, vaults, cable, etc.

Skills:

-Working knowledge of health, safety, and environmental protection practices and procedures as they apply to related construction progress.

-Strong knowledge and understanding of construction prints/maps.

-Must be able to track and communicate daily production and materials.

-Must be capable of handling logistics and crew assignments.

Duties:

-Ensures safety of the public and other utilities underground facilities.

-Setup and clean up of work site, including traffic and pedestrian control.

-Reads utilities locates and coordinating day lighting of these facilities.

-Inspects the work that is in progress to ensure the workmanship conforms to specifications.

-Operates construction equipment to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery to conform to grade specifications.

-Level earth to final grade specifications.

-Performs proper daily maintenance by greasing, oiling, and making minor repairs to equipment.

-Operates vehicles and equipment as directed and certified.

-Leads the team in the field effectively and efficiently as needed and directed by supervisor.

-Able to meet the physical requirements of the position, which involves sitting, standing, bending, climbing, lifting, working at heights, in confined spaces, and in all types of weather conditions (rain, snow, heat, etc.)

Requirements:

-Must have a valid US driver’s license with a clean driving record (no accidents in 3 years, no DUI in 5 years), and pass a drug and background screen.
