Dover is in the midst of large digital transformation and we opened up Dover digital labs in Watertown, MA. As a Senior Manager, Software Engineering & Devops, you will be creating significant impact through infrastructure innovation and automation of several SaaS and on-premise digital solutions. Your work will enable scaling the growth of our software product capabilities, while having the unique opportunity to collaborate and engage with best-in-class engineers. You will build cloud infrastructure automation, iterate CI/CD pipelines, improve infrastructure observability and support software engineers in their daily work. You will be both hands-on contributing to the Devops framework while also hiring, mentoring strong Devops team.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Lead a Devops portfolio of diverse technology projects and collaborate with team of strong SaaS developers
• Lead team of Devops engineers both direct and matrix manner
• Identify the gaps and hire strong devops engineers to strengthen the organization
• Lead the teams that develops the Devops automation as well as product deployments, monitoring
• Hands-on contributions to the Devops framework required
• Set effective goals to reduce errors, deployment times as well as excellent customer experience
• Set KPIs, OKRs and improve the overall performance of teams and quality of SaaS deployments and monitoring
• Build, test, and administer highly available container application platform clusters (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker)
• Collaborate with software engineers to figure out tool requirements, then drive the implementation, documentation, maintenance, and improvement of these tools
• Work with peer software engineers to design resilient, scalable and robust cloud services
• Champion security by injecting it into the existing development workflow and every stage of software development, ensuring the entire infrastructure is secure
• Identify normal routines and repeatable tasks that are candidates for automation, and then create and support the deployment of automation using various CM tools
• Assist application teams with onboarding to container application platforms in areas such as resource requirements, capacity analysis, and troubleshooting support
• AWS provisioning, configuration management, storage management, network management, and virtualization
• Create the Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) automation infrastructure to support the project engineering team
• Tackle problems and resolve active production issues
• Keep teams accountable and motivate them for highly collaborative and performance centric.
• Developing and improving standards for security (via security as code) across a continuous delivery environment and cloud-based production deployments Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Bachelor/Masters degree in engineering
• 8+ years of Devops experience
• 5+ years experience building and operating AWS public cloud IaaS, PaaS services
• 5+ years of management experience with proven track record of building effective, strong teams
• Experience working in a Docker, Kubernetes environment.
• Experience with scripting language like Python, PowerShell, etc.
• Strong experience with setting up secure, network segregated cloud environments
• Experience with Agile, Scrum, DevSecOps concepts, Terraform, and/or Azure DevOps pipelines.
• Experience integrating, testing, and deploying AWS Cloud Services into production systems e.g. compute, storage, Key Vault, PaaS.
• Experience in Automation (using python or shell scripting) and script development in Powershell, Python, Shell, Ruby, JSON, YAML etc.
• Strong understanding of DevOps practices & tools, system monitoring and integration with logging and monitoring tool
• Implement DevOps achitectural framework for cloud applications, resiliency/disaster recovery, Kubernetes services, microservices, containers, other PaaS Services.
• Experienced in Cloud CLI, APIs, CloudFormation templates and Management Console, Monitoring & Logging, Cloud Optimization, Security Services Cloud Build Services
• Ability to create DevOps tool chain using DevOps tools, Familiarity with Jenkins as build driving a full unit test, build verification, and production code delivery pipeline
• Experience in working with fast paced multi-disciplinary teams, high velocity agile environment
• Experience of working in a geographically distributed multi-cultural environment
• Demonstrated ability to explain technical issues clearly and accurately to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team with adjusting priorities and deadlines
• Excellent problem solving, analytical skills and technical troubleshooting skills
