Emergency Response Systems, Inc is a growing independent Security and Commercial Fire company based in Riverside covering Santa Barbara to San Diego counties with the largest saturation of clients in the Inland Empire. We are seeking an experienced Commercial Fire Intermediate to Master Technician to add to our team.

General Summary

Skills would include a working knowledge of DMP, Honeywell, Notifier, BOSCH fire system manufacturers with the willingness to learn what they don’t know. ERSI believes in ongoing education.

Primary responsibilities are installation, maintaining, repairing and troubleshooting current systems; as well as Annual Inspections and reports.

Additionally a technician should have a working knowledge of commercial and residential Intrusion Systems is beneficial : WiFi, ZWave, Bluetooth, automation: primarily Alarm.com solutions or similar.

Essential Skills - Commercial Fire

● Experience with Commercial Fire Alarm systems. Ability to program, install and service.

● Mount, wire, test and program various devices to a FACP/FIRE ALARM CONTROL PANEL.

● Drill holes for wiring in wall studs, joists, ceilings, floors, and other areas as required. Examine systems to locate problems such as loose connections or broken wires.

● Test backup batteries, keypad programming, sirens/strobes/horns, and all features in order to ensure proper functioning, and to diagnose malfunctions. A working knowledge of how to troubleshoot and locate a ground fault.

● Identifies, troubleshoots and resolves hardware, software and cellular communications: DMP, Honeywell, Telguard, M2M, CLS devices.

● Panel types include: SIlentknight, Firelite, Honeywell, DMP, and Uplink.

● Execution of annual commercial fire inspections.

Essential Skills - Security

● Inspect installation sites and study work orders, building plans, and installation manuals in order to determine materials requirements and installation procedures have been met. Capable of doing a job walk for a new or takeover opportunities.

● Mount and fasten control panels, door and window contacts, sensors, and video cameras, and attach electrical and telephone wiring in order to connect components.

● Drill holes for wiring in wall studs, joists, ceilings, floors, and other areas as required.

Examine systems to locate problems such as loose connections or broken insulation.

● Test backup batteries, keypad programming, sirens, and all security features in order to ensure proper functioning, and to diagnose malfunctions.

● Identifies, troubleshoots and resolves hardware, software, and basic network related problems encountered by end-users of the network. Has a basic understanding of IPV4 and how to assign a computer an IP address.

Work Environment

● Lots of driving all over Southern California. Clients from Los Angeles to San Diego to

Banning.

● High amount of ladder and scissor lift usage. Must be comfortable with heights of 5-25 feet in the air.

● Indoor and outdoor installations. Construction sites, commercial buildings, residential homes.

● Sometimes needs to enter crawl spaces for wiring and installation purposes.

Compensation

● Hourly wage with frequent overtime. Amount depends on experience.

Education and Experience

● Minimum two years of work experience as a Security and Commercial Fire Alarm

Technician.

● Driver’s License with clean driving record. (Will be checked).

● ACO Card

● Clean background. (Will be checked)

● Excellent reading, writing skills, and communication skills.
