SUMMARY

Provide support for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Division of Laboratory Science, senior management team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following:

  • Provides executive administrative support to Branch chief and Lab chiefs.
  • Schedules conference calls, reserves meeting space, and provides coordination/logistical support for meetings for organizational units supported.
  • Maintains appointment calendars for Branch Chief Outlook.
  • Prepares, reviews and/or updates a variety of personnel forms, reports, charts, and documents.
  • Provides support in compiling technical information for contracts, procurements, purchase orders, and credit card purchases.
  • Plans, develops, coordinates and tracks travel.
  • Plans, develops, coordinates and tracks procurement actions ranging from small purchases to multi-million purchases of equipment, lab, and office supplies.
  • Coordinates the request for new and the renewal of badges for everyone in the branch by working with both the OD and the Smartcard office.
  • Develops and prepares responses to official correspondence; edits and proofreads material.
  • Requests and manages international visitors and guest researchers to the branch and work with NCAMS to make sure that all information is updated in the system.
  • Supports training requests and conference registration for the branch.
  • Manages in/out processing for the branch.
  • Performs other job-related duties as required.

SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY

No supervisory or management authority.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience. Previous CDC experience required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Attention to details.
  • Ability to successfully pass a federal background check and a drug screen
  • Cherokee Federal employees are included as covered employees in U.S. Presidential Executive Order 14042, which mandates Covid vaccines for federal contractors. Executive Order 14042 is currently blocked from enforcement pending court proceedings. Therefore, Cherokee Federal is halting the application of the mandate; however, if the injunction is lifted, Cherokee Federal will restore administration of the vaccine requirement.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work will be primarily performed in a climate-controlled office environment.
