Your Opportunity
In this role you will create and maintain information within the JM Smucker (JMS) specification systems to insure the consistency, safety and quality of JMS products. Your focus will be on the Consumer SBA products’ material, formulation and processing specifications working with Research & Development, TSO, Quality and Regulatory teams. You will perform a technical check of engineering, formulation, processing, and quality assurance data to verify definition data meets procedural and system requirements. You will also be a key Research & Development contact for Project Managers to ensure data entry and trade specification timelines are met within a project.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and deliver against project timelines for the creation of Materials and Formulation specifications
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure Ingredient Recipes and Labels meet Compliance (ie Child Nutrition, Labeling, Nutrition Claims)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and deliver against project timelines for the creation of Packaging and Trade specifications.
- Collaborate with System Team to assist in the development of system and business process improvements
- Participate in Research & Development Quality Initiatives (Documentation Archive, Key Quality Elements, Quality Facility Audits
- Continuously evaluate processes to determine improvement opportunities
- Fosters a good team environment

What we are looking for:
- A bachelor’s degree-required
- 3 years of CPG specification management experience or 5 years of R&D, Operations or Technical Services experience (user of specification management)-required
- Understanding of US and Canadian product and labeling regulations
- Strong Computer skills, including Excel, Microsoft Word-required
- Demonstrated communication and collaboration skills with cross functional teams (Marketing, Regulatory Research & Development, Operations)
- Build effective working relationships within functional team to achieve established shared goals or objectives
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks to meet timelines
- Ability to adapt to changing requirements and act with a sense of urgency
- Strong analytical skills and detail oriented
- Must be able to manage multiple projects and multiple specification type creation
- Ability to develop, document, train and implement plans and processes to ensure technical data accuracy
- Solves problems in straightforward situations
- Leadership skills including self-motivation, work independently
- Ability to work 25% onsite in the Orrville office or JMS facilities
