Title: Senior Analyst, eCommerce Analytics
Location: Seattle, WA (hybrid)
Reports to: Associate Manager Analytics

Position Overview:

The Senior Analyst of eCommerce Analytics will play an important role in Newell Brands’ strategy to enable business transformation by creating a data-driven, insight-based culture throughout the organization. The successful candidate will have the skills needed to facilitate the collaboration between the business and technical teams. They will require proficiency in data practices, analytics techniques, and business knowledge as it relates to reporting, diagnostics and forecasting.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and run analyses, experiments, reports and more to better understand and improve sales, profitability and process efficiency for internal customers
  • Draw actionable insights from varying data sets: consumption, market share, digital shelf, search, among many others
  • Interpret complex datasets to tell stories and develop an organized set of conclusions and recommendations that can be easily digested by a broad audience
  • Build strong partnerships with cross-functional teams to understand trends and opportunities for improvement, address customer needs and product pain-points
  • Build automated reporting through business intelligence platforms, visualizations and analytical models. Democratize internal and external KPIs across the business
  • Work with syndicated data sources and partner with technical teams to facilitate the consumption of data from application programming interfaces (APIs)
  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to support/optimize innovation launches, merchandising standards, online marketing campaigns and promotional strategies
  • Hands-on participation with sales results, annual planning and forecasting processes
  • Support the continued enhancement and evolution of Newell’s analytics capabilities to a best-in-class level. Stay abreast of industry trends/innovations and drive new analytics initiatives that contribute to business goals

Key Qualifications:

The team is looking for a unique combination of skills: strong business acumen with a history of using data to solve business problems, deep analytical skills, a strategic and technical mindset, and an ability to drive and own business relationships.

Previous analytics experience and technical qualifications:

  • Strong business acumen with an analytical and problem-solving mindset. Familiarity with financial concepts preferred (promotional lift, profitability, inventory levels, etc.)
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of direct and hands-on Retail/CPG experience providing solutions in a large global company. eCommerce experience preferred
  • Ability to operate in a matrixed team environment with shifting deadlines and deliverable dates
  • Self-starter with high degree of motivation to learn and go above and beyond
  • Intellectual curiosity for digging into the underlying story to be told with data
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills at all levels; ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience synthesizing disparate data sources to drive to logical, concise and actionable conclusions
  • Experience using POS Sales data alongside other data sources such as invoice, product margin, supply chain, web marketing, product and shopper behavior metrics to provide a holistic program for online growth
  • Qualified candidates will have a broad understanding of analytical processes including but not limited to data management, forecasting, optimization, predictive modeling and visualization
  • Strong understanding of retail math and financial processes
  • Must have advanced skills with all Microsoft Office applications for the creation of reports, presentations and analyses including advanced Excel functions and formulas, pivot tables, Power Pivot, and Power Query
  • Preferred experience with data modeling tools such as Power BI, Tableau or Qlik
  • Familiarity with Amazon.com business tools for analytics (Vendor Central, Brand Analytics, AMS Reporting) a plus
  • Familiarity with market research and syndicated data providers (IRI, Nielsen, NPD) a plus
