Hilton's Commercial Services organization is comprised of over 4,000 team members driving our sales, revenue management, call center, and analytics functions. These functions are the core of Hilton's "commercial engine" and are key to Hilton's ability to drive profitable growth.

What will I be doing?

The Senior Distribution Analyst in Distribution Services will report to the Senior Manager of Distribution Services Finance on the accounting and finance functions. Responsibilities include reconciliations, data reporting, and ad-hoc financial analysis for external partners and internal cross-functional teams related to Global Distribution partnerships.

  • Collect appropriate data from all relevant sources (databases, web applications, records, files, team members, third-party affiliates, etc.) to perform reconciliations and/or analysis
  • Ensure timely and accurate results and feedback
  • Provide support to the Distribution Services Finance Senior Manager and colleagues in variance analysis, and ad-hoc reporting as requested
  • Use Distribution Services Systems, PeopleSoft, and MS Excel to enter/process information and generate reports to internal and external collaborators for the purpose of monitoring and analyzing results.
  • Find opportunities or problem areas and provide feedback in the development of policies, procedures, methods, and/or standards
  • Connect with department team members as well as external partners to provide information relevant to the needs of the business
  • Research and respond to information requests in a timely manner.
  • Analyze data to identify problems/issues and work with applicable departments to resolve
  • Apply standard software applications such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook Express.
  • Advanced ability to collaborate, manage client requests, and answer queries

What are we looking for?

The success in this role will demonstrate itself through the following attributes and skills:

  • Proven track record using critical thinking, quantitative and qualitative analytics skills with logic and reasoning to creatively identify the strengths/weaknesses of alternative and differentiated solutions to difficult problems
  • Can develop and maintain a deep understanding of Hilton's business processes and systems as they relate to Revenue Management, Distribution, and Sales across brands and geographies
  • Ability to analyze extensive amounts of information and provide constructive feedback and direction through the application of critical thinking and discernment
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication, to explain complex issues in a clear and concise manner, and to engage audiences when communicating these issues broadly
  • Capability to balance multiple projects within deadlines; work effectively under time and resource constraints while balancing multiple, concurrent demands, appropriately prioritize responsibilities and share the workload with team members as needed
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and decision-making skills to consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions and to provide recommendations and assist in the execution of optimal solutions

To fulfill this role successfully, you should demonstrate the following minimum qualifications:

  • Three (3) years of Accounting experience; analyzing and deciphering financial data including variance analysis
  • Three (3) years in general ledger account reconciliation
  • Three (3) years using Excel in a financial position
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills, both written and oral

It would be useful in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

  • BA/BS Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel/Word/PowerPoint including formulas such as VLOOKUP, IF statements, pivot tables, etc.
