This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, motivated analyst and leader, with a good knowledge of the North American primary and secondary metals markets with a sound understanding of economic principles. The successful candidate will have a key role in the Aluminium Division focusing on our services covering the secondary metals markets and their emerging significance as strategic feedstock alongside the role primary aluminum and carbon products have in NA value chain and wider global markets. The Senior Analyst will specialise in the analysis of the markets of aluminum products with an understanding of how primary and scrap-fed operations impact mill success metrics. The successful candidate will also be responsible for the growth of our revenue in this part of the value chain by developing a network of metals market participants and the application of CRU subscription services.

• Work closely with the Aluminium team in achieving sustainable growth. Particularly focusing on the company’s Customer Intimacy objectives or providing first class analysis and service to clients.
• Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to help market and sell CRU’s services.
• Responsibility for the development and maintenance of CRU’s databases on NA primary and secondary materials markets.
• Ensure high quality price assessments and their adoption in the raw materials space.
• Investigate commercially viable opportunities to improve and expand CRU’s coverage of non-metallurgical grade alumina and other raw materials markets such as aluminium fluoride and caustic soda where applicable.

• An undergraduate university degree or equivalent level qualification
• Further degree (Masters’ degree would be beneficial)
• Secondary metals market experience as a buyer, trader or consumer
• Demonstrated understanding of end use markets, logistics and supply chain management
• Strong quantitative background and a creative thinker based on a robust approach to data/modelling
• Exposure working across multi-locations with different cultures would be beneficial
• Goal-oriented, with a high level of energy and enthusiasm; able to operate efficiently, effectively, and professionally within a fast paced, dynamic and results driven business environment
• An analytical mind-set and able to get to grips quickly with the intricacies and complexities of the economics and data that drive our business and strategy
• Ability to influence and motivate others, and demonstrate team-membership skills
