Position Summary:
The Senior Accounting Analyst, SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting will be responsible for contributing to the preparation and filing of SEC documents, including Forms 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, and 14A. The Senior Accounting Analyst will conduct research on various technical accounting matters and contribute to the interpretation and implementation of new accounting standards, as necessary. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented and analytical, with strong verbal and written communication skills. The successful candidate will be an energetic and motivated individual who is able to work and communicate effectively in a team environment, interacting with all levels of the organization, as well as with external auditors.
- This position can be remote with some travel to San Diego a few times per quarter.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of SEC filings, including the drafting of disclosures
- Compile and maintain all documentation to support the disclosures in SEC filings
- Research technical accounting matters
- Assist in the preparation of analyses and memorandums on technical accounting matters
- Prepare inline eXtensible Business Resource Language (iXBRL) for Forms 8-K, 10-Q, and 10-K
- Participate in quarterly reviews and annual audits
- Support the quarterly earnings press release process
- Maintain excellent internal controls over the financial reporting process, including disciplined and high-quality documentation and tie-outs
- Stay abreast of SEC and FASB guidance and pronouncements
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; Active CPA license a plus
- Typically requires 5+ years of accounting and finance experience; Big 4 public accounting firm experience preferred
- Understanding of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting regulations required
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented; committed to accuracy and quality while meeting deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Self-directed and able to work well in a team environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience with Workiva a strong plus

For individuals performing work in the state of Colorado, the estimated base range for this role is: $74,000 - $98,000. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
