Guardian Security Services is currently looking to hire a Second Shift Supervisor and night shift security officers for a location in the Melrose Park area. Great starting wage up to $19.50/hr! Applicants must have 2-3 years experience, good computer skills and a great attention to detail. Position Requirements/Preferences:
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
- Possess a high school diploma or the equivalent and provide us with a copy.
- As a condition of employment, employee must successfully complete a background investigation and a post-offer/pre-employment drug/alcohol test
- Be mature in demeanor, personality and attitude.
- Possess strong communication skills, both verbally and written.
- Have a stable work history.
- Maintain an impeccable image and adhere to our professional grooming standards.
- No visible tattoo(s)which cannot be covered up with a short sleeve shirt and pants.
- Possess strong customer service and public relation skills, and be able to interact well with people of diverse cultures and backgrounds.
- Must maintain a working telephone at all times in order for us to contact you.
- Must have a reliable means of transportation.
- Must have a valid Permanent Employee Registration Card (PERC) or willing to apply for one.
- Must have a 20-hour training certificate or complete within in 30 days of employment.
- Ability to deal with challenging situations while remaining calm and professional.
- Ability to use a two-way radio.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
Position duties:
- Working from a warehouse environment you will be monitoring employees, temporary workers, delivery drivers, and contractors entering in/out of the facility.
- Counseling and mentoring Security Officers.
- Understand and maintaining general post instructions for that assigned post.
- Maintain practical knowledge of all additional and emergency post instructions that are called for by the client.
- Maintain access control procedures set by building management.
- Effectively utilize access control systems, visitor management systems and CCTV systems as needed.
- Document and report any property damage, special occurrences, and malfunctioning of equipment using proper protocol.
- Logging incoming packages using the computer software programs you will be trained on.
- Monitor CCTV’s to guard against theft of tenant or building property.
- Respond to incidents and document the event.
- Possibly conduct foot patrols in and out of the building, in all types of weather, during your shift.
- May include walking up and down stairs, depending on location.
- Greet all employees and visitors using your best customer service skills.
- Sign in and out all visitors and vendors.
- Ability to stand/sit/walk for long periods of time.
- Maintain a clean and organized working environment.
- Provide excellent Customer Service, Public Relations and have an impeccable image.
