Purpose
The SECU Life Operations Specialist supports the growth and stability of SECU Life Insurance Company by facilitating solutions that support the daily operations of new and existing policy holder services. This individual quickly adapts to the current needs of the Company while working on future projects and initiatives.
Dimensions
This individual performs the daily operations of SECU Life, including new business processing, policy servicing and annuity application reviews. Must develop a high level of expertise specific to SECU Life operations and life insurance and annuity products.

Duties
Become familiar with SECU Life systems, applications, and procedures.
Learn Company risk appetite to effectively assist with field underwriting inquiries.
Provide exceptional service by managing and responding to incoming calls and e-mail inquiries.
Review new business life and annuity applications for completion and accuracy.
Address application deficiencies with insurance representatives and policy owners.
Maintain reliable records for new business applications and servicing transactions.
Process policy servicing requests for individual life insurance policies, annuity contracts and group supplemental life policies.
Ensure all new business applications are received, issued and processed in a timely fashion.
Support advisors in the FAS Retail Delivery and FAS Contact Center network.
Generate policy packets and other correspondence for individual life policies and annuity contracts as necessary.
Ensure policy documentation is saved and available in the imaging repository system.
Assist with annuity suitability reviews and perform suitability interviews as needed.
Collect additional details surrounding suitability when necessary.
Perform additional duties as assigned.


Requirements
Must have four-year degree, CCUE Certification and 5 consecutive years of full time SECU service, or Associate of Arts degree via the North Carolina College Transfer Program (NC-CTP) and 5 consecutive years of full time SECU service.
Must have or quickly obtain necessary insurance licenses and satisfy all continuing education requirements.
Must possess skills in written and verbal communication and have a genuine concern for the welfare of clients and co-workers.
Must be able to quickly adapt to changes in daily work based on immediate needs.
Must have strong multi-tasking and organizational skills.
Be discreet in performance of duties and hold client personal information in strict confidence.
Must complete other training and education as directed by management.
Must be able to speak English fluently.
Must be able to cooperate and collaborate with co-workers.
Must be cordial in all interactions with members and co-workers.
Must adhere to the work schedule and attendance policy established by manager.
Act in a professional manner on and off the job.
Job Environment
Office setting with physical proximity to other employees.
Some background noise from other employees, copy machine, and telephone. Potential for some remote work after the licensing and training period is complete.
Physical Demands
Must be able to comprehend and carry out verbal and written instructions.
Job requires a substantial amount of sitting.
Use hands and fingers to press keys on a computer keyboard to enter or retrieve information.
Use hands and fingers to press telephone keypad and lift telephone receiver.
Must be able to comprehend phone calls.
Must be able to communicate clearly in answering members questions.
Must listen well to ascertain the services needed by each member.
Must be able to lift 5 pounds.
