What you'll do:

• Play a crucial role in formulating, sourcing, and specifying coatings for metal food closures.

• Work closely with vendors to develop and specify new materials.

• Travel to our manufacturing plants to organize and run projects from conception to production.

• Design experiments and run both pilot line trials and manufacturing trials.

• Analyze physical and chemical data including FTIR, GC, DSC, TMA, rheology, and physical tests in order to develop relationships between material properties and closures performance.

• Provide technical assistance to manufacturing for production and customer issues

• Provide support for regulatory compliance.

What you'll need to have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related field, including Polymers, Materials Science, or Engineering.

• Minimum eight (8) years of related experience.

• Knowledge of statistical analysis.

• Knowledge of plastics and polymer/formulations/processing.

• Knowledge of Design of Experiments (DOE).
