The Opportunity
Imagine Great Western Academy is seeking a School Psychologist to work in collaboration with other service providers and student services team members to ensure high quality services. In this role, the School Psychologist has a manageable caseload that makes it possible to give thorough attention to each student. The School Psychologist has the ability to affect policies and procedures, where ideas are not only welcomed but also encouraged.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Provides the intensive psycho-educational evaluation and assessment of individual children identified as or thought to be a student with a disability
  • Contributes to the written report of the evaluation team, delineating the results of the psycho-educational evaluation and assessment for consideration in the development of the individualized education program for each student with a disability evaluated
  • Contributes, as a part of a multidisciplinary team, to a multi-factored evaluation utilizing diagnostic instruments and techniques appropriate for the area of disability or suspected disability
  • Provide direct intervention services in assessment, progress monitoring, diagnosis, mental health, academic interventions, data analysis, and behavioral interventions that affect student achievement
  • Provide consultation services to children, parents, families, teachers, and administrators that will improve student achievement
  • Participate in various aspects of RTI (Response to Intervention) such as program development, assessment, progress monitoring, intervention monitoring, etc., based on district needs
  • Provide information dissemination and training activities through in-service training and presentations
  • Assume responsibility for keeping current in literature, research, and the practice of school psychology
  • Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance
  • Develop and accomplish annual goals that are consistent with the department and district goals
  • Contributes to an environment that is conducive to staff cooperation and facilitative productive operation
  • Works to establish and maintain open lines of communication with other staff members, principals, superintendents, and instructional staff
  • Maintain required license(s)
  • Perform all other duties as required or requested by the Superintendent
