Job Summary

Provides relevant occupational therapy and evaluation services to students exhibiting difficulties in fine and gross motor concerns; eye-hand coordination; visual-perceptual issues; sensory processing abilities and organizational/executive functions related to educational performance and common core standards. Collaborates with CST members and families regarding strategies and techniques to ensure carryover of skills.

Job Functions

• Delivers effective and educationally relevant treatment services;
• Possess' and demonstrates knowledge of current strategies and best practice techniques.
• Completes evaluations that accurately and effectively identify strengths and needs. Utilizes standardized and non-standardized tools that are culturally diverse and appropriate.
• Communicates effectively with teachers, families and other CST members in oral/written formats in both formal and non-formal situations.
• Completes written work in a timely manner including progress notes and annual reviews. All paperwork is legible, accurate and adheres to codes of professional ethics.
• Submits all required billing, service verification logs, and semimonthly billing in a timely manner.
• Displays competency in providing strategies that are appropriate, including measurable outcomes, as part of the student's IEP.
• Selects and adapts appropriate activities, incorporating a variety of intervention models. Assesses progress on an on-going basis and modifies as needed.
• Takes responsibility for seeking supervision/consultation in relationship to clinical performance.
• Provides supervision of OTA as needed.
• Attends and participates in IEP meetings as requested.
• Ability to independently reason and solve problems related to self, staff or others.
• Tact, initiative and judgement in the performance of duties.
• Understanding and use of Microsoft Word and Excel.

Requirements Formal Education and Job-Related Experience

• Graduate level degree in accredited occupational therapy program
• Licensed by the State of New Jersey to practice specified discipline
• NJ School Certification
• Minimum of 2 years clinical experience providing school based occupational therapy.
• Participation in recent continuing education programs related to school based occupational therapy.

Pay: $50.00 - $60.00 per hour
